A dramatic interpretation of the life of Booker T. Washington

Experience the vision and passion of a man who changed America forever by advocating for education for all. As the first president of Tuskegee College, he wrote, spoke, organized and promoted equality of opportunity for African Americans. Hear the story of how Booker T. Washington and President Teddy Roosevelt formed an alliance to promote a progressive agenda of social reform.

Roswell Roots Festival 2026 marks a historic milestone as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of this community-wide, month-long festival honoring our diverse community and celebrating Black History Month. Since its founding, Roswell Roots has served as a cornerstone for education, cultural awareness, and community connection, inviting all ages to engage, learn and celebrate together.

This year's festival will be curated across five categories–art, education, cultural, performance, and history–bringing dynamic programs and events that reflect the richness of Black heritage and its profound influence on our shared story.
